If I built a school

If I were to build a school, I would make sure that all the classrooms were homey. I would make sure there were plenty of activities for the children to do to keep their minds awake while getting the exercise children need. I would make sure that the teachers allowed their students to enjoy to learn rather than looking at books all day. Most children learn in many different ways so why would a teacher only teach one way of learning a subject? I would make sure the food in the cafeteria is healthy but also delicious so the children would eat the food. I would have a program set up to have students tutor students who need extra help on subjects because I believe hearing the subject from a different perspective would help the student more. But most of all I would like the students in my school to feel safe while enjoying to learn new subjects.

 Children having fun while learning.

Who is Krissy Venosdale?

Krissy Venosdale is a Gifted Ed Teacher who teaches grade grades 3rd through the 6th grade. She is very passionate about teaching and goes above and beyond for her student. She believes students should enjoy learning rather than just giving them a bunch of information and expecting them to memorize on their own. She is very inspirational and has a great imagination on how children should be taught. I strive to encourage and teach with the love she uses every time she walks into her classroom, in my classroom. Who is Sugata Mitro? Sugata Mitro is the creator of SOLE. It is awesome how he moved all of his ideas around the world. He had an idea and made it happen by testing his hypothesis several times. I admire the way he has decided to change the way to look at teaching all by himself. What my students will learn I believe it is important for students to learn about every subject. Well rounded students understand more about life and what is going on around them. Therefore, students should learn about math, science, history, health, reading and also physical education.

What my students will be able to do

I want my students to be able to learn on their own but not be afraid to ask me for help whenever they need it. I want them to be able to figure out any problem at their grade level. I want them to be able to work together to solve problems to help them get prepared for working in the work field.

  The methods I will use

I want to try to use a couple different methods to teach each subject because every child learns differently. I will play learning games to help the children to have fun while learning. I will also have sample problems for the children to practice so they can get better.

This is a picture of children using computers.

  The tools I will use

I will make sure I have all the math tools needed for effectively learning the concepts of math. I will have markers, pencils, extra paper, etc... I will make sure I have all the needed for the topics of the subjects I am teaching.

What role my students will play

My students will learn the basic concepts from me but then explore how far those concepts go. I want them to be able to learn on their own while I coach them and make sure they stay on coarse. I also want my students to be able to work with one another to come to their conclusions.

  1. Haley,

This is a good start but you need to be sure and provide clickable links to all that you discuss such as a link to Krissy Venosdale's blog and the TED Talk. You also need to provide alt and title modifiers to your images to credit the source for the images. Don't be afraid to be more specific about how you want your future classroom to be and what students should know. I can tell you it took me awhile to develop an idea of my perfect classroom, but it is something you really need to think about because when you begin teaching, that classroom will be your second home! Feel free to contact me if you need further assistance!

  2. Haley,
I really like that in your future school you want to provide healthy but delicious foods, safety and different ways to learn and teach. I do think you can be more specific on how you want your classroom to look and what tools and methods will be used. Overall, I like your idea and think they will help you to be a successful teacher!

  3. I like your idea of a homey school. I also what my school to be homey. A place for students to want to be. Although your ideas are for more of a typical school environment. I think they are good ideas. Keeping the students feeling safe and making sure that they do not feel like they are behind. I think kids can get really stressed out when they are behind in a class and do not understand something. Some students are also afraid of asking for help.

  4. "...teaches grade grades 3rd through the 6th grade." Too many grades.

"...how he moved all of his ideas around the world." What do you mean when you write he moves ideas?

What grades will you teach? Rather sketcy discussion. We need to now more about what grade you will teach.
